Communal systems or “IRS” (Integrated Reception System) provide multipoint distribution of Digital TV, Radio and Satellite TV to multi-dwelling properties from two to two hundred rooms or residences, such as flats, hotels, holiday complexes etc.

Fibre Optic IRS Distribution:

Cotswold communications we are always ready to embrace new technology however having worked with fibre optic cabling for many years, it was a natural progression for Cotswold to adopt the latest fibre optic TV and satellite distribution systems.

Important note about earth Bonding:

If you have a communal system installed it must provide system safety between dwellings either by safety earth equipotential bonding or outlet plate isolation.

Many existing systems that we have encountered when we are repairing existing systems, do not have any safety bonding in place and are therefore, not "safe" and do not conform to the current wiring regulations BS EN 60728-11:2005.

In this instance we issue safety warning notices to the client responsible for the up-keep of the system and advise immediate remedial action should be taken to bond the system.
